Dental Holistix is seeking a confident, patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our periodontally focused practice on a fixed-term (5 days/week) maternity cover. Located in Hamilton CBD, Dental Holistix is a modern, patient-first clinic delivering high-quality dentistry with a strong focus on periodontal health and long-term prevention. We are a GBT certified practice and use EMS AirFlow as part of our periodontal maintenance approach. Our team works collaboratively to provide a consistent, premium patient experience supported by great systems and high clinical standards.
Fixed term: Beginning of October 2026 to end of July 2027 (approximately 9 months)
Key responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality hygiene care, including periodontal assessment, maintenance, and supportive periodontal therapy
· Provide GBT-style appointments using EMS AirFlow, with a focus on patient comfort and long-term outcomes
· Educate and motivate patients with tailored oral hygiene instruction and prevention plans
· Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and periodontal charting
· Work closely with the dentists and wider team to support comprehensive treatment plans and continuity of care
· Support implant and cosmetic cases through excellent preventive care, maintenance protocols, and patient education (training provided where required)
· Contribute to community oral health promotion initiatives and practice-based education activities
· Maintain excellent infection prevention and control standards in line with practice protocols
As a periodontally focused clinic, you’ll work within a team that prioritises prevention, education, and high-quality periodontal maintenance. We’re also an implant and cosmetic-driven practice, so you’ll have the opportunity to support patients across periodontal, implant maintenance, and aesthetic treatment journeys. · Current registration to practise as a Dental Hygienist in New Zealand (or eligibility to obtain)
· Periodontically driven, with a solid understanding of the links between periodontal health and systemic health
· Strong clinical standards and a genuine interest in prevention and long-term patient outcomes
· Comfortable working within an implant and cosmetic-driven practice, with the ability (or willingness to learn) to support implant and cosmetic case maintenance and patient education
· Enthusiastic and willing to contribute to community oral health promotion and practice education initiatives
· Eager to participate in continuing education and professional development, including learning outside of working hours
· Confident communication skills and a calm, professional chairside manner
· Patient-focused approach with the ability to build rapport and encourage positive behaviour change
· Team-oriented, reliable, and organised
